Troubleshooting

Publishing paused, extension not linked, listing left as a draft on Vinted, failed publish: what to check, and in what order.

Where to start

The vast majority of problems come down to one of these four conditions. Check them in order before looking any further:

  • Chrome is open on the computer where the extension is installed.
  • The dashboard shows “Extension linked”.
  • You are logged in to Vinted in that same browser.
  • No pause banner is shown at the top of the dashboard.

Your publishing is paused

Vinted sometimes asks for a check before letting you continue. When that happens, Pikmatic pauses your publishing on its own and shows the banner “Publishing paused”, followed by “A captcha was detected on Vinted.”

  1. Click “Resolve now” in the banner.
  2. Complete the check on Vinted, in Chrome.
  3. Go back to the dashboard: publishing resumes on its own.

While the pause lasts, no new publish is sent; a publish already under way runs to the end. Nothing is lost, everything waits in the queue.

The banner says slowed down, not paused

The message “Publishing slowed down” is not a fault: publishing carries on, more spaced out, after a series of errors. There is nothing to do, the pace returns to normal on its own.

The extension is not linked

The dashboard shows “Extension not linked”, publishing is disabled, and the queue reads “Extension not linked — publishing paused”.

  • Check that you are logged in to the SAME Pikmatic account in the dashboard and in the extension. The link belongs to the account, not to the browser.
  • Refresh the dashboard page.
  • If the message persists, link the extension again: it is explained step by step in Quick start.

Your email address must be verified

The linking code cannot be generated until the account's email address is verified. The verification link is in the email you received when you signed up.

The extension is linked but inactive

Two different messages, two different causes.

Extension linked (currently inactive)

The link is still in place, but the extension has not checked in recently. Open the browser where it is installed. Opening Vinted in ANOTHER browser is not enough: it is the browser with the extension that publishes.

Extension linked (Vinted session to reopen)

The extension is talking to Pikmatic, but your Vinted session is no longer open. Log back in to Vinted in that browser: publishing resumes on its own. The status can take a few minutes to turn green again, while the extension confirms the new session.

The listing stayed as a draft on Vinted

Vinted requires a size for many categories. When it is missing, the listing is created on Vinted, but as a DRAFT: Vinted refuses to publish it as it is. This is by far the most common cause.

Spotting it before you publish

An item with a missing size carries the “No size” badge, and the dashboard says: “Without a size, Vinted won't publish this item: it stays a draft.” Fill in the size before publishing, and the problem does not arise.

Fixing it afterwards

  1. Open the draft in your wardrobe on Vinted.
  2. Fill in the missing field, usually the size.
  3. Publish the listing from Vinted.

For a repost or a scheduled publish, Pikmatic shows the message “The draft was created but publishing failed” directly, with an “Open the draft on Vinted” link.

Do not keep retrying the publish

For an item left as a draft, “Retry” starts a full publish from scratch: a new attempt can leave ONE MORE draft on Vinted. Complete the existing draft on Vinted rather than trying again.

Once the listing is published by hand

In Pikmatic, the item shows the “Draft on Vinted” status. Once the listing is published from Vinted, click “Mark as published” on the item. A sync of your wardrobe also picks this up on its own.

A publish failed

A failed publish is retried automatically: three attempts in total, with increasing delays. If it still fails, the error appears in the queue bar and you can restart it yourself.

When Vinted rejects the listing, Pikmatic shows “Vinted rejected the listing. Check the item's details, then try again.” Go back to the item's details: category, brand, size, condition and price are the fields that most often get a listing rejected.

If the message mentions a missing Vinted account, the item is not attached to any account: log in to Vinted in the browser where the extension is installed, then try again.

You have run out of credits

One credit covers the AI analysis of one item. Without credits, new analyses are blocked. On a paid plan, the counter resets at the start of the next billing cycle. On the Free plan, the 10 credits are granted once only: you need to move to a paid plan to get more. Publishing or reposting an item that has ALREADY been analysed uses no credits.

Reposts have their own quota, separate from analysis credits. You can change plan at any time from the dashboard to get a higher quota straight away.

Contact us

If none of the above gets things moving, email us at contact@pikmatic.com. We answer questions about your account, your publishes and billing.

To speed things up, include the title of the item concerned, the approximate time of the attempt, and the exact message shown by Pikmatic.
